  We had an almost funnily bad stay here. Our welcome wasn't great and the receptionist asked us to pay before we had seen the room. We thought we had become grumpy and middle aged but when we checked out there was a long queue of guests complaining. The litany of complaints sounded like Faulty Towers!! Our room was disappointing for the price and our lock broke so that we were locked in. When this was resolved the staff member who freed us pretended there was no problem despite another member of staff not being able to open our door. The room was not particularly clean and the furniture looked cheap. We waited 45 minutes for breakfast and heard other guests waited an hour and a half. We complained and were given a £60 discount on our £220 per night room It was a special occasion and very disappointing. Fortunately the South Downs were beautiful and more than made up for our bad hotel experience.

  Attended a lovely wedding here. A beautiful venue with great grounds​ for the kids to run around in. Staff were all very friendly and helpful, and the food was lovely. We were lucky enough to get a parking space, so we can't really comment on the local parking, but it's really close to the station if that's a worry... The only downside was the price of the bar while we waited for the ceremony to begin.
